I'm Kevad, the brains behind Not Your Average, a coffee aficionado, entrepreneur, and health enthusiast dedicated to making wellness both simple and delicious for everyone.
My journey into the world of health and coffee began at just 14 years old, during a memorable road trip through the Rockies with my uncle and aunt. As we listened to health podcasts, it dawned on me how much potential we have to improve our longevity through daily habits. Despite the flood of diet plans and products on the market, I noticed people's health wasn't getting any better. I knew I had to take action.
Fast forward through experiments like a healthy school buffet and a superfood café pop-up—none of which quite hit the mark. The breakthrough came in 2019, while pondering a simple question for 8 hours in my dad's basement: How can healthy choices be both simple and effective?
After downing my fourth cup of coffee, it hit me—a eureka moment: Why not infuse coffee with all the essential vitamins and minerals we need?
And thus, Not Your Average was born.
Delving deep into the coffee world, I made a curious observation. While coffee has always been about ritual and enjoyment for me, not all brews felt good. Some left me jittery or crashing later on, prompting me to question why something with so much potential for goodness could make you feel bad.
That's when it clicked—I realized there's more to coffee than just flavor. From farming practices to processing shortcuts, there seemed to be compromises at every turn to cut costs.
One major discovery? Mold and mycotoxins. Shockingly, over half of the commercial coffees on shelves contain these contaminants, potentially causing the jitters, anxiety, and headaches many of us experience. Essentially, we're unknowingly poisoning ourselves with mold every morning!
Over the past 5 years, I've poured my heart into researching, experimenting, and perfecting the ultimate morning routine: toxin- and mold-tested coffees infused with superfoods!
Why settle for anything less when we can enjoy our favorite brew knowing it's good for our health and ethically produced? And guess what? We don't compromise on taste either!
